Volvo’s advanced pedestrian avoidance technology has failed to avoid a crash test dummy in a media demonstration in Europe. Designed to automatically apply the brakes and avoid or reduce injuries to pedestrians by using radar sensors and a camera, the new Volvo V60 wagon failed to recognise the Swedish brand’s dummy, nicknamed Bob, in demonstrations to Australian journalists.
